East Meets West

Creating a romantic Asian-inspired room gives you the best of both worlds - combining intimacy with luxury.

Asian design styles typically favour dark, highly lacquered wood furniture highlighted with rich red accents used in the surrounding fabrics, paint, wallpaper and artworks.  Romantic rooms favour more delicate furniture complemented with soft and opulent fabrics.  In combining the two, a contemporary look can be achieved with the ultimate aim to create a rich, warm overall feeling

On the NZ House & Garden programme this week interior designer Neil McLachlan showed us how to create a modern take on an Asian romantic room.  Follow the video link above to see the story.

And there’s nowhere more appropriate in our home to create a rich, warm and romantic room than the bedroom.  Click on the link to see our bedding special feature on ideas to help create your own bedded bliss.
