Web exclusive: Toffee Strawberries |
What is Christmas without strawberries? Children, especially, will adore these. Leave the calyxes on; apart from the fact they look attractive, cut surfaces on fruit tend to make toffee “melt”. For the same reason, thoroughly dry the berries after washing them.
Place sugar in a small saucepan and pour over water. Simmer without stirring over medium heat until golden. Meanwhile, insert a skewer into each strawberry.
