Enjoy a day with NZ House & Garden and support a wonderful cause.
Thanks to everyone that attended the NZ House & Garden Tours 2013. It was a wonderful event and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Step inside the pages of NZ House & Garden as homes in Wellington, Auckland, Nelson and Christchurch open their doors for the NZ House & Garden House Tours, in support of the Cancer Society of New Zealand and Look Good Feel Better. Last year we raised valuable funds for the charities. We look forward to seeing you there.
Dates:
Wellington Friday March 1
Auckland Friday March 8 Nelson Friday March 15
Christchurch March 22
Wellington, March 1: This tour takes in 10 homes in the suburbs of Seatoun, Mt Victoria and Kelburn. It includes a gracious family home that was was once lived in by Norman Kirk, a modern new build, and a number of clever renovations with dramatic sea views. Tour-goers will also be able to visit the recently renovated Government House.
Auckland, March 8: Homes in the Auckland tour are in the central suburbs of Parnell, Herne Bay, Freemans Bay and Remuera, with a couple further east in Glendowie. You'll see an eclectic selection of interior styles: from a converted church to a brand new architectural build to a tiny historic workman's cottage.
Nelson, March 15: Our 11 Nelson homes include a cluster in the city and Atawhai areas, and a smattering further out in the rural surrounds of Richmond, Appleby and Upper Moutere. It's a strong mix, including a beautifully restored bishop's residence and a relaxed rural home belonging to a local sculptor.
Christchurch, March 22: The 12 homes in the Christchurch tour fall into two main clusters: most are in the central city area (Fendalton, Riccarton, Merivale etc), but there is also a post-quake renovation in Opawa and three very different homes in the Cashmere area. The tour is a tribute to the resilience of Christchurch and a glimpse into its future:it includes two brand new post-quake builds, a couple of renovated historic homes and a number of mended and interim homes.
