Symbolising eternity, a Christmas wreath on a front door is a happy indicator of festivities within.
We made ours from ruscus leaves, which can be bought from most flower sellers, but bay, camellia or any other hardy leaves would look just as lovely. To make it, purchase a floral foam wreath from florists or craft stores, cut the stems to fit and push in the leaves. Decorate it with a little ribbon and a lot of festive bonhomie. And, if the spirit of the season doesn’t extend to DIY, you can also purchase a wreath like this for $100 from Vida Flores, (09) 523 5454 (they can be boxed and transported nationwide).
